Well, most people call me Jessie. I was raised in a home with several dogs, cats, horses, and many other animals of all shapes and sizes! As long as I can remember I've always had a dream of working with animals in one way or another. For years I wanted to become a vet. After working with a vet I decided that career was not what I was looking for. After I left the vet I began working at a dog boarding kennel, and really enjoyed my job. During my senior year in High School I found the Tom Rose School online and did some research, before telling my mom I knew what I wanted to do with the rest of my life. I graduated 4th in my class from the Tom Rose School for Professional Dog Trainers in May of 2008. Following my graduation I got an apprenticeship with K-9 Good Manners. There I learned how to put my training skills to the real test. After a few months I moved home and started up my own business. Durring my aprenticeship I gained experience training a wide variety of dogs. My first dog there was a Lab puppy. Following him I also traied several small and large breed dogs, both active and more laid back. My work there was a great experience and I'm glad I got the chance to work with John and Geoff. I still keep in touch and I know they were a big help towards getting me to where I am today. I have 4 dogs of my own. River, a Border Collie, has been with me since she was 8 weeks old. I got her as a Christmas present in 2004 from my parents. Jade, a miniature Dachshund, who came from a friend not long after I returned home from TRS. Khale is my German Shepherd that was the dog I took through school with me. She is also a competitive obedience dog, and we are training in Schutzhund. Chaos is my most recent additon. She is a Shortador (Lab/German Shorthair Pointer) and definately keeps me busy! She is in training to be a competitive obedience dog as well. She also is the dog I can teach all kind of new things to and she pick up on them quickly! She is fun to teach tricks!! In addition to the dogs, I have 2 cats, Kitty and Jager, who are a great help in training dogs around cats (they are not scared of my dogs, but know to keep a distance, especially when I have a cat aggressive dog in training. I am an animal lover, and I work around dogs every day! I also work around horses on a daily basis, and may other farm animals.
